Fashion Festival “Simbirsky Stil” takes place in Ulyanovsk

Fashion Festival “Simbirsky Stil” (Style of Simbirsk (“Simbirsk” is the former title of the city of Ulyanovsk)) took place in Ulyanovsk (Russia) in November 2015. It became one of the main fashion events in the Volga Federal District held by the educational center ARMADA with the support of the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk region, Foundation “Ulyanovsk – the Capital of Culture” and the Ulyanovsk State University.

 Each year the event unite over 1000 participants – VIP-guests and experts in different spheres of fashion industry, show-businessmen, cultural and art workers, professional designers from different regions of Russia and abroad.

In 2015 the Festival took place in the space “Leninskiye gorky” (Lenin Hills) and its restaurant “Veranda” which has a perfect view on the Volga river. Thus, “Simbirsky Stil” “passed the baton” to a new international fashion event – Volga fashion week – which is going to be held in the spring of 2016 in Nizhny Novgorod for the 1st time and then will be travelling to different cities of the Volga Federal District for 5 years.

Over 150 young designers has taken part in the Festival “Simbirsky Stil” for the last 4 years. For many of them it became an opportunity to start up their own business in the sphere of fashion. This year the Festival expanded its borders – the event obtained new partners from Moscow and other regions of Russia and the winners of the show got the opportunity to go on an internship to one of the European countries.
